Vestre Sorken Farm museum
One of Hans Sorkens workVestre Sorken holiday farm lies by Femund in the little hamlet Sorken. The farm museum shows equipment from "lasskjørernes" time and from the farm in old days. The main house is from 1753, the summerhouse is from 1915 and the old "stabburet" is rented out to tourists. Vestre Sorken was a "ferdesgard" already for 250-300 yers ago, when sweedish people stayed the night there to and from Røros.

Here had also the known wood carver Hans Sorken his first workshop. He got his motives from the nature and the wilderness. We find his sculptures on the Forestmuseum in Elverum, in the local authority house and in several of the churches in Engerdal. Many of the works was sold to private persons, but some is still at Vestre Sorken.

Open during the summer for groups and individuals against advance booking. It is served food in the "nice livingroom" from the late 1700 to groups on at least 5 persons.
